Cristian Gonzales started cutting grass around Aiken in 2019. Six years later the route runs past a hundred properties a week and the tree side has its own experienced crew — all of it grown on neighbors pointing at each other's yards.
Grown one yard and one referral at a time
CG Landscaping Services started in 2019 the way most of these businesses start: one truck, one mower, and a handful of yards around Aiken. There was no advertising. There still mostly isn't. The route grew because someone's neighbor walked over and asked who had done the edging, and that is how almost every client we have today found us.
What changed along the way is the tree work. Cutting grass on a hundred properties a week means standing under a lot of trees, and seeing a lot of them that should have come down two storms ago. So we built a real tree side of the business around an experienced climber — someone who rigs properly, cuts at the collar, and knows which trees need to go and which just need deadwood taken out. That is now the work we are proudest of and the work we most want to be called for.
We are registered as CG Landscaping Services LLC and we carry insurance for what we do. The price is written down before we start, the debris leaves with us, and the yard gets raked and blown before the truck pulls out. None of that is remarkable. It is just increasingly rare, and it is the entire reason the phone keeps ringing.
